General services at Pinewood Residential & Nursing Home

Here at Pinewood we want to ensure that every resident has access to as many everyday services as possible.

As well as the services detailed below, we offer a wide range of activities throughout the year to ensure a really enjoyable stay and a full and active lifestyle.

From pampering to laundry, outings to catering for that sweet tooth in our shop, we want all our residents to enjoy their time at Pinewood.

Hairdressing

Our in-house hairdresser visits the Home on a weekly basis, providing a little pampering for our residents.

Shop

Residents are free to order from a wide selection of everyday items that Pinewood has in stock. All of these are sold to residents at cost price. Items in the shop include general toiletries such as shampoo, toothpaste, tissues etc. More recently, sweets have been introduced for the pleasure of those residents with a mildly sweet tooth!

Telephones

All residents' rooms are connected into the Home's advanced phone system which enables each resident to have his/her own personal telephone number. Line rental is free and calls are charged at cost.

Cleaning

Two cleaners are present at Pinewood seven days a week. In addition to using their own initiative, the cleaners work to a checklist, thereby ensuring that all rooms are thoroughly cleaned daily. Residents and visitors alike are actively encouraged to add to this checklist.

Laundry

In addition to working as a cleaner, one of the Home's cleaners also takes on the role of Housekeeper. This job involves taking responsibility for the residents' laundry items. This system works extremely well, and helps ensure that all laundry items are cleaned and sorted properly.
