Residents At Pinewood Show They Can Certainly Hold A Tune While Singing Carols On Christmas Day
It was an absolute pleasure to watch the residents at Pinewood sing in perfect harmony as Glyn Lewis lead the singing of Christmas Carols on Christmas Day. Meanwhile, Santa Claus was busy with his little helper, Louis, as they went about handing out presents to everyone.

Pinewood Fireworks Give Light To Budleigh Salterton Night Sky
The firework display that took place at Pinewood on Saturday 6th November will be a difficult one for us to beat next year. There was a fantastic turnout and in the short space of just under an hour, £160 was raised for the Budleigh Salterton Lions Club - a charity that distributes money to various causes within the local area. The display itself looked absolutely stunning and the delicious food being served at the BBQ provided the perfect warm meal or hot drink for the spectators on a November’s evening. A special note of thanks should go to all the Pinewood staff and Lions who volunteered their time in order to help make this event so enjoyable and worthwhile.

Come to the Pinewood Fireworks Night! - 6 p.m. Saturday 7th November
A combination of the fond memories from last year’s event, the fantastic turnout that appeared in spite of the weather, and a grand determination to raise even more money for charity, has culminated in our repeating the Pinewood Fireworks Night this year. All proceeds collected during the night will go to the Budleigh Salterton Lions Club who distribute their money to various worthwhile causes within the local area.
Once again, we can all look forward to a fantastic display of lights in the night sky. Weather pending, a BBQ will also be on hand to provide a delicious warm meal to residents and visitors alike.
There will be no parking at the Home on the night between 4 pm to 8 pm but a minibus service from outside the public hall will be available.

Residents At Pinewood Visit Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary
Yesterday afternoon's minibus outing proved to be just the treat for the residents at Pinewood as they got to pay a visit to the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth. The three quarters of an hour they were there seemed to go on for much longer as they were guided around the stables and allowed to touch the donkeys. The donkeys themselves were so friendly and everybody seemed to have a connection with them. A lot of thanks should go to the staff at the sanctuary who were extremely helpful in helping to ensure the residents were given a wonderful time.

Pinewood Hosts Flower Arranging Seminar
On Friday 12th June, residents and visitors at Pinewood were given a wonderful treat as Maureen Duckworth came along to provide a seminar on Flower Arranging. The seminar gathered a lot of interest from those attending and Maureen was more than happy to answer the variety of questions that came her way as she gave her talk. Everyone agrees the resultant display looks absolutely wonderful and fills the Day Room with some lovely scents.

Pinewood fête raises £377.26 for local charity
Pinewood Residential and Nursing Home was packed full of people on Saturday 16th May. A Spring fête was being held in order to raise money for the Budleigh Salterton Lions Club and people from all over the local area came to join in. With £377.26 raised, it can safely be regarded as a resounding success. A lot of thanks should go to all those people who donated their items for the bring and buy, raffle and cake stall. Other events included two owls from Sharandys Birds of Prey and cream teas with some lovely clotted cream from the Budleigh Salterton Creamery. Mike the minibus driver also had his pottery out on display. The weight of the cake in the weigh the cake competition was a healthy 7lb 7 oz and the teddy bear's name was John!

Come to the Pinewood Spring Fête!
At 2 p.m. on Saturday 16th May, we are having a Spring Fête. Sharandy’s Birds Of Prey will be coming over to feature as one of the main attractions, along with a BBQ combined with a cake stall, cream tea with scones and jam, a bring and buy sale and let’s not to forget the obligatory raffle! All proceeds raised during the day will go towards the Budleigh Salterton Lions Club who distribute the money to various charities within the local area.
